Stick & Twig Christmas Tree

Have fun making this adorable Christmas tree with your elderly loved one or those in your care. Using items from nature and a few store-bought decorations, this little tree is the perfect addition to any festive holiday decor!

Materials

  • Twigs and/or pine stems

  • Craft sticks

  • Craft glue or hot glue gun

  • Decorative items, such as small bells, beads, tinsel, buttons, stickers, etc.

  • Yarn or colourful pipe cleaner

  • Scissors

Directions

  1. Collect a number of dry, natural twigs of different lengths and thicknesses. Trim the twigs, or cut to different lengths.

  2. Using the craft stick as the "trunk" of the tree, apply a generous amount of glue.

  3. Arrange the sticks along the glued area, ensuring that the longest twigs are at the base of the tree and get smaller at the top. Let dry fully.

  4. Once dry, it's time to decorate! Add the embellishments, using glue, to create your beautiful Christmas tree. Let dry.

  5. Using the yarn or pipe cleaner, loop and secure, using glue, to the back of the craft stick at the top of your tree. Let dry before hanging.
