D.I.Y. Snow Globe!

Do you remember the feeling of shaking your first snow globe and watching the snowflakes swirl? Remember how magical it was? We were fascinated by the tiny scene surrounded by glittering snow showing us the beauty of winter and the holiday season. Bring that magic home by making your own snow globe!

Materials

  • Mason jar, or any clear glass or plastic jar with a secure lid.

  • Hot glue or strong crafter's glue

  • Miniature objects, such as trees, characters, holiday bells, gifts, etc.

  • Fake snow, glitter, or sequins

  • Water *optional

  • 1/2 tsp Glycerine *optional

Instructions

  1. Remove the lid from the jar and turn it upside down.

  2. Using glue and miniature objects, glue a holiday or wintery scene to the inside middle of the lid. Set aside and let dry.

  3. Cover the bottom of the jar with fake snow, glitter, or sequins. Making sure not to add too much as we don't want it to cover the scenery when put together.

    1. If you are choosing to add water and glycerin for a more authentic snow globe, put 1/2 tsp of glycerin into the jar and fill the jar with water.

  4. Finally, turn the lid over and screw it back onto the jar and secure it.

  5. When you're ready for the magic, turn your snow globe upside down so that it rests on its lid and watch the scene come to life as the snow falls gently on your holiday scene!
