Did you know that tomorrow is National Oreo Cookie Day!? It is celebrated by cookie-lovers every year on March 6th!
Nobody knows for sure where the name Oreo came from, but one biscuit legend has it that ‘Oreo’ may come from the French word for gold, ‘or’, because of the original packaging. Another theory is from the Greek word ‘oreo’ meaning ‘good’ or from the Greek root word, ‘orexin‘, meaning ‘appetizing’.
How will you celebrate this delicious, and often addictive, cookie!? Will you twist it? dunk it? or simply bite into its creme-filled goodness? However you celebrate, enjoy!
